This book consists of an opening, an introduction and 4 steps /chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
I will start by saying that this isn't my usual chosen genre but I'm an eclectic reader and happy to read most books. I must say that if you are the same as me and don't normally read non fiction then don't let that put you off and pick up your copy of this great book today. I am one of those people who never really stick to one thing in life and like to know lots of information about many things, I've done so many short courses I have lost count and have worked in a wide range of places. I am an accumulator and didn't have a clue until I read this book!! If this sounds like you then it is definitely worth grabbing a copy today!! It is filled with great hints, tips, exercises, references and so much more!! The book consists of an opening, introduction and four steps that you go through. I love the way it is designed and laid out as it means you can just pick it up and read it in stages. Each of the steps gives you lots of information without over doing it and has some great handy diagrams and drawings throughout.
Step one concentrates on acknowledging and embracing the accumulator you. This step describes what an accumulator is, ensures you know your not alone, helps you work out what type of accumulator you are and to set goals and avoid obstacles. It consists of tasks, gives book recommendations, advises you to start a journal and explains what to do, gives you tips and includes diagrams.
Step two concentrates on your talents as an accumulator. It helps you understand your talents, to work out the big picture, encourages you to have a positive and open mind. It gives you tasks, book recommendations and ends with a fun page of puzzles to help to rest your creativity.
Step three concentrates on priming your problem solving skills and explains how. It contains diagrams and tasks.
Step four concludes the book and consists of scenarios and how to approach them along with tips.
If is a great read packed with valuable information, tasks and tips and Mareike's writing skills ensures the reader that she actually cares about her readers and wants to help them. She gives her own experiences and tells us where she got the information. I ended the book coming away with some great ideas and it definitely made me feel better about the way I am when it comes to accumulating!!
Overall an intriguing and thought provoking book filled with tips, advice and more for Scanners and Accumulators.
