This is the first book I have read by this author.
This is an extremely colourful, fun and eye catching children's book. It tells us all about The palm tree swingers island band which consists of a tiger 🐅, orangutan 🦧, elephant 🐘, eagle 🦅, rhino 🦏, Komodo dragon 🐉, spider 🕷️ and a turtle 🐢 who each play a different instrument. I absolutely loved the fact that the story rhymes as did my three children, 5 year old twins and 10 year old. We all had fun reading it to each other and pretending that we were the animals playing the different instruments. We made it into a great action story which is perfect fun for a rainy day or as a classroom activity. It wasn't just a fun book but it is also a great way to teach young children to read and learn about all the different animals, instruments as well as colours. The illustrations were absolutely fantastic!! They were so colourfully and eye catching and it was great fun pointing out everything in them so a HUGE congratulations to not only the author Lily for creating a fun, lively book but also to Gustyawan for illustrating it perfectly!! My children also had lots of fun trying to guess what the next rhyming word was going to be which is also a fantastic way to not only encourage children to read but also to help them enjoy reading plus learning new words and about rhyming words. The book is perfect for younger children as one page has the story which is written in large, bold and easy to read type as well as having colourful musical notes around the words and the page opposite is the picture relating to that part of the story. My boys each picked their favourite part/animal and Malaki loved the elephant and snake, Hunter liked the tiger and Ryder's was rhino. My favourite part was when all the animals were in the bus!! The fantastic illustrator Gustyawan has used their brilliant artistic talent with a sprinkle of humour to brighten up the book with colourful and humourous images. I'm looking forward to reading more of this great author and illustrators books!!!
