The Girl in the Pink Shoes: A heart-pounding crime novel packed with twists (A Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller Book 1)
My baby girl. This morning she was so excited for school. I bought her new shoes last night. Pink, sparkly shoes. She loved them so much. She wore them for the first time today. And now she is gone…
It is every mother’s worst nightmare. Eight-year-old Kailey Richardson skips out of the school gates in her brand-new pink shoes and never makes it home. Between the school and the safety of her shiny red front door, someone has taken her.
Private Investigator Lucy Kendall sees the fliers of a smiling gap-toothed Kailey and knows she won’t be able to sleep until the little girl is found. Having lost her own sister to the darkest evil, she is determined to help find Kailey before it is too late.
As Lucy talks to Kailey’s friends, desperate to find out who has taken the happy little girl, she begins to form a worrying picture of the days before Kailey’s disappearance. The blue car idling in the street outside the school. The friendly man across the road. And Kailey’s mother, Jenna, hollow-eyed and jumpy, clutching Kailey’s teddy bear and not telling Lucy everything.
Lucy has promised Jenna she will do everything to find her daughter. But then she discovers Jenna has a connection to the prime suspect in Kailey’s disappearance… and one which brings Lucy’s past rushing back to haunt her. Time is running out to find Kailey, but will Lucy be able to save this innocent little girl before her own demons destroy her?
You won’t want to stop turning the pages of this unputdownable crime thriller. Fans of Lisa Regan, Robert Dugoni and Kendra Elliot will be reading The Girl in the Pink Shoes late into the night.
BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'The Girl In The Pink Shoes' by Stacy Green. Previously published as 'All Good Deeds'.
Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Stacy Green, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous
Publication date 30th January 2023.
This is the sixth book I have read by this author. It is also the first book in the 'Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller' series. I have previously read 'The Girls In The Snow' which is the first book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series, 'Lost Angels' which is the third book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series, 'The Girl In The Ground' which is the fourth book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series, 'The Trapped Ones' which is the fifth book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series and 'Her Frozen Heart' which is the sixth book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series. I would highly recommend them all.
This book was previously published as 'All Good Deeds'.
I was originally drawn to this book by its gorgeous eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that 'You won’t want to stop turning the pages of this unputdownable crime thriller. Fans of Lisa Regan, Robert Dugoni and Kendra Elliot will be reading The Girl in the Pink Shoes late into the night'. 'I am a huge fan of all three of these authors so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Stacy Green and if this is half as good as 'The Girls In The Snow', 'Lost Angels', 'The Girl In The Ground', 'The Trapped Ones' and 'Her Frozen Heart' . it is sure to be a page turning read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).
This novel consists of 41 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
This book is set in Philadelphia, USA 🇺🇸.
This book is written in first person perspective with the main protagonist is Lucy Kendall. The benefits of third person perspective are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.
'The Girl In The Pink Shoes' discusses some topics that may upset some readers or may not be suitable for others. I like to point this out ahead of time in my reviews so you can judge if this book is for you or not. In this book Stacy discusses child abuse and $3x offenders.
Wow!!! An absolutely unputdownable addictive book in what promises to be a gripping series!!! Very well written with fantastic descriptions this book had the perfect settings and a great storyline! The cover and blog suited the book perfectly.
The storyline started straight into the action and sucked me straight in where it kept me until the last page. This storyline is very fast paced and packed with suspense, murder, vigilantes, tension, emotions lies and an explosive ending!! I had absolutely NO IDEA who the killer was in this book and when I found out I was absolutely gob smacked!!! At no point did I suspect them so a MASSIVE WELL DONE Stacy on yet again shocking me.. It gets harder and harder to shock me as I read so many crime books yet you manage it every single time which just goes to show what a talented author you are!! The book cam be hard to read at times to due it involving child abuse but at the same time it was definitely unputdownable are as all of Stacy's books. It is also extremely thought provoking when it comes to justice. It made me think and question that if I could get away with it would I do the same? Wrong and crime is not always black and white. Without revealing too much of the storyline it is hard to say what I want without exposing the story too much and spoiling it for other readers. Some readers will agree with what she does, some wouldn't. I absolutely agree with the fact that the justice system we have is a joke!! I think I'll have to leave this here as I dont want to risk giving anything away but needless to say this book is an absolute must read with an unexpected ending. I would love to see this turned into a movie!! This book is absolutely addictive and I read/listened to it in one sitting. It kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with my heart absolutely pounding throughout especially at the end! It is an emotional rollercoaster ride of emotions from anger to sadness to disgust. I really am looking forward to the next episode in what is definitely An explosive start to what promises to be a dark, gripping, all consuming addictive series.
I read approximately half of this book on kindle and listened to approximately half on audio book. I must also give a huge congratulations to the narrator Amelia Sciandra who not only brought the storyline to life by really portraying the emotions through his voice but by doing absolutely fantastic impressions of males and females so a HUGE congratulations Amelia!! I cannot imagine that this was anywhere near an easy feat!!! I am looking forward to discovering more books read by yourself as you definitely have a perfect "book" voice!! I sometimes struggle to absorb the storyline through an audio book but if you are the same as me I can promise you will not have that problem with this amazing narrator!!
It is always worrying when starting a new series as you have no idea who the characters are. It is very important for me to bond with not only the lead protagonists but also any characters that may make repeat appearances during the series too.
I absolutely loved meeting Lucy Kendall who is one kick @$$ woman who works as a private detective. I would not like to get in the wrong side of her!! Lucy's tragic past of losing her 15 year old sister when Lucy was just 11 years old herself and losing that sister due to abuse that was not acknowledged by their mother. Lucy then became a caseworker for Child Protection Services but it was too much for her when she realised how many abusers getting away with what they had done, only to do it again. Lucy is now a private investigator with a few assistants and is determined to stop other children suffering whatever it takes including murder. However, Lucy does not see herseld as a serial killer but someone who "eradicates the worst of society and brings justice to the innocent–the children she failed to protect during her decade in Child Protective Services.” Lucy reminded me of Dexter who I also enjoyed watching and getting to know. I absolutely love Lucy who is a strong and realistic woman who has turned vigilante. I cannot wait to meet her again in more books in what is guaranteed to be an explosive series along with Chris. Chris joins Lucy's "team" after being discovered by him when she is about to poison a peaodoohile with her cyanide cocktail. Chris is a self-proclaimed sociopath with his own agenda. As we progress through this page turner Lucy begins to develop some self-awareness about her actions and starts to evaluate herself. Is Lucy going to change her ways in the next explosive addition 'Little Lost Souls'? You'll just have to pick up your copy to find out!!
This is exactly why you are on my favourite author list Stacy and I would love to see made into a movie!!! Here's to your next success 🥂
A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS ON YET ANOTHER FANTASTIC SUCCESS STACY AND HERE'S TO MANY MORE 🍻🥂 !!!!
Make sure you read to the very end of the book to read the first two chapters of the next book in Stacy's 'Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller' series 'Little Lost Souls' which is promising to be just as addictive as this book and is what I am off to read next!

Genres covered in this novel include Crime Thriller, Serial Killer Thrillers, Mystery, Romantic Suspense, Thriller, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, Romance Novel, Police Procedural and Crime Fiction amongst others.

The Girl in the Cabin: A completely gripping crime thriller with a heart-stopping twist (A Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller Book 3)
She can stop the killing. But at what price?
When the body of a sixteen-year-old girl is found in a remote hunting cabin in the middle of the snowy Maryland woods, a shiver runs down Private Investigator Lucy Kendall’s spine. The handprints around her neck, her broken bones, and the incense left burning at the scene are vital clues to who committed this terrible crime—Mary Weston, a notorious serial killer. She has outwitted the police for many years and left many parents without daughters. Is the girl in the cabin a sign she is killing again?
Working closely with the police, Lucy is determined to catch this evil woman. But when the bodies of three other teenage girls are found in remote locations, it’s almost like Mary is toying with them. Lucy is determined to bring her to justice before more innocent lives are snuffed out.
But then Mary’s son Chris—one of Lucy’s closest friends—disappears. Lucy is convinced Mary is responsible, and she will do anything to find him. So when Mary sends Lucy a message asking to meet her alone, Lucy knows that she must face her darkest fears and risk her own life. She is the only person who can stop Mary. But what will she need to sacrifice?

The Lonely Girls: A totally gripping serial killer thriller (A Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller Book 4)
The room spun and my legs gave way as I looked at my name scrawled in blood-colored lipstick on the mirror above the girl’s broken body. Was this young girl dead because of me?
When the body of a vulnerable teenage girl is found on a remote farm in the Maryland hills, Private Investigator Lucy Kendall knows her past has come back to haunt her. Lucy’s sister died when she was a young girl, and the dead teenager looks exactly like her—her dark hair dyed blonde, her wrists slashed.
Lucy’s name is scrawled on the bathroom mirror above the girl’s body, and the dead girl is clutching a silver coin in her small, fragile hand, identical to the one which has just been mailed to Lucy. Lucy is shaken to her very core, determined to find out why a cruel murderer wants her to feel responsible for this girl’s death.
Lucy vows to track down this twisted killer who seems to know so much about her family’s tragic past. But when her closest friend Kelly is abducted and Lucy receives a phone call saying she has forty-eight hours to find her, she knows the evil perpetrator won’t stop until she comes face to face with him. As the clock ticks and Lucy frantically tries to track him down, she is sent messages showing her friend growing weaker and weaker. Lucy cannot let another innocent life be taken. But can she find Kelly in time? And what will her abductor want in return?
