BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'New York Miracle' by Margo Laurie.

Read and reviewed for Margo Laurie, Calleia Press and Rachel's Random Book Tours .

Publication date 18th December 2022.

This is the first book I have read by this author.

The storyline is unique and filled with magic, history, Christmas, romance and is an absolutely charming, sweet read. It is definitely a strange and different storyline but one that is perfect to read curled up next to the fire with a hot chocolate while you delve in and explore New York. I loved delving into the 30's and discovering some intriguing historical elements and events of New York City in times gone by. Margo's lovely descriptions will leave you skating on the ice, devouring Thanksgiving dinner and enjoying the magical atmosphere. It is a beautiful Christmas miracle in the busy city of New York which will warm your heart throughout. Although it is a short novella Margo fills it with adventure, festivities, friendship, family, nostalgia, history and so much more!!! All that I can say without giving anything away is grab a hot drink, snuggle under the duvet and get travelling through cities and time in this charming, nostalgic and magical journey!!!

I wasn't only invested in the storyline but also the characters. They were all strong and we'll developed and although this book is a novella Margo still manages to build each of the characters up enough to bring them all to life as you fly through the pages. I adored Ellie who was a lovely kind character that I would love to meet again. She sticks up for other characters even when she doesn't know them well and doesn't abide bullying or unkind words. I loved getting to know her as well as her great aunt Bernice and her colleagues Kara and Marcus. Ellie meets James who the nuns who run the boarding house call strange but Ellie finds him mysterious and charming. I loved how sweet and romantic he was and I adored going on there past and present journey with them. They are all just absolutely fantastic characters and I loved getting to know them. I won't say anymore but there are definitely some lovely magical surprises to look forward to!!!

Overall a lovely charming and magical Christmas novella!!
