'Never Too Late' by T. A Williams

Book Description

A second chance to realise her dreams…

A classically trained pianist, Steph works as a recording engineer for a small studio when she’s offered the job of a lifetime – travel to the Italian Riviera to help world-famous band, Royalty, record their reunion album after a decades-long hiatus.

Steph could definitely do with the distraction. Her boyfriend – who also happens to be her boss – is increasingly unreliable and erratic, and she’s awaiting news from her doctor after a recent biopsy. So an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy is the perfect escape.

What she doesn’t expect is an instant connection with Rob, the son of Royalty’s lead singer. With her career – and her heart – at a crossroads, what path will Steph follow?

A wonderfully escapist romance for fans of Sue Moorcoft, Rosanna Ley and Erica James.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Never Too Late' by T.A Williams.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for T. A Williams, Canelo Escape publishers and Rachel's Random Resources Tours

Publication Date 2nd March 2023.

This is the first book I have read by this author. It is also the first book in the 'Beneath Italian Skies' series.

I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching beautiful cover and intriguing sounding synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that this book is 'A wonderfully escapist romance for fans of Sue Moorcroft, Rosanna Ley and Erica James.' I am a huge fan of Sue Moorcroft so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Canelo Escape. I have yet to read a book published by Canelo that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue, 27 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, UK 🇬🇧 and Italy 🇮🇹. The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture.

This book is written in third person perspective with the main protagonist being Steph. The benefits of third person perspective are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.

'Never Too Late' discusses some topics that may upset some readers or may not be suitable for others. I like to point this out ahead of time in my reviews so you can judge if this book is for you or not. In this book Trevor discusses/includes drugs.

Well I am ABSOLUTELY gutted to come to the end of this book as it ends my stunning sofa holiday 😭

This book is beautifully written and completely absorbs you in the stunning atmosphere of Italy completely sucking you in with the vivid descriptions leaving you feel the warmth of the the sun and smell of the wine. The synopsis and cover suits the storyline perfectly.

The storyline is authentic and realistic as well as easy to read and heart-warming. It is just one of those absolutely stunning books that promises the reader gets completely lost in the pages for hours. Trevor's evocative writing skills and vivid descriptions leaves you tasting the gorgeous Italian ice-cream, feeling the rays of the sun on your skin, listening to the music being played and getting soaked by the absolutely gorgeous and memorable Waldorf. I loved absolutely everything about this stunning page turner and it makes a perfect start to what promises to be a stunning series!! I was pleasantly surprised when Steph travelled to Italy to discover not stuck up and arrogant rich celebrities as she and myself expected but down to Earth, (mainly) friendly, welcoming and memorable characters who, after lives of $3x, drugs, rock and roll and a sad death decide they want to make a come back with the help of Steph and Ethan. Although this books main theme is music it is so much more than just that and is filled with romance, family, friendship, regrets, sun, food, music, muddy paws and so much more!! You could not ask for any more than what this book delivers!! I became completely lost in the storyline and was surprised when I looked up and instead of being in stunning Italy I was still in wet and dreary Wales. This is one of those books that you just cannot put down! Every time I said I would end after one more chapter something happened that meant I had to carry on until I came to the end which I was gutted about, having to unpack my suitcase and land back in reality!! I cannot wait to get stuck in to the next book and hope that it will be ready soon. Hint, Hint Trevor!! You will also want to book the day off whatever you had planned as once you pick up this book and turn the pages I can guarantee you will not want to put it down!! I found myself picking it up every spare second I had and not wanting to put it down so ended up reading it in one sitting in the end!! The storyline was filled with a range of emotions and was heart-warming, devastating and had lies, lost and new love, relationships, family and friendship all going on in this beautiful atmosphere. I loved how the story ended and I would love to read more about the life in this gorgeous Italian place. An absolutely stunning read!!!

AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING MUST READ!! CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES BEFORE TURNING TO THE FIRST PAGE AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN!!

It is always worrying when starting a new series as you have no idea who the characters are. It is very important for me to bond with not only the lead protagonists but also any characters that may make repeat appearances during the series too.

The characters were all unique with their own realistic traits, strengths and weaknesses. As I have previously stated I love the fact that those that I expected to be arrogant were mostly friendly. It also shows the realistic life of many celebrities that after living a wild life they calm down, settle and try to get back together. One of the things that really stood out to me is when Steph met Ben and that reality did not match her expectations at all and how she remembered him from the past was completely different to how he is when she met him. I really liked Steph, she had a great personality, is friendly and instead of demanding a certain person change she gives them the option and lets them make their own decision although it must have been hard for her. She knows what she wants in her life and is not afraid to say if something is not going to work. When she meets Rob you cant help but root for them throughout their ups and downs but I wont say anymore about that and you will just have to pick up your copy to find out what I mean!! I adore the Bailey family and, as with all families, they have their problems which makes them all the more realistic and likeable. I loved listening to their conversations and Donatella's delicious meals made my mouth water! Trevor's fantastic ability to characterize each of the characters ensures we get to understand how they feel, what they have gone through, what they are worried about and how they each find their way back to their love of music. I really enjoyed watching all the characters relationships and friendships with each other develop throughout the book and I cannot wait to meet them again in the second book. One of my favourite characters just has to be the absolutely fantastic and very slightly naughty Waldorf!!! I will not be forgetting him any time soon! As a huge animal lover myself, I actually run a cat rescue from home for elderly cats, it is always a bonus when animals play such a big part in books!! Although I loved the majority of the characters there were a handful I despised and would be happy not to meet them again! However, regardless of whether you love them or hate them each of the characters played their roles perfectly and the book would not have been the same with any of them missing!! I look forward to meeting them again and hope to see this made into a movie!!!

Well done Trevor on an absolutely stunning start to what promises to be a gorgeous new series, I will definitely be looking for your books any time I need to be swept off to another country and cannot wait to get stuck into the next book in this series!!!

A MASSIVE WELL DONE to Trevor on a HUGE success!!! I loved every page of your book and I cannot wait to read more of your past and hopefully future books. Congratulations you are now one of my favourite authors! Here's to your next success 🥂

Author Bio

I’m a man. And a pretty old man as well. I did languages at university a long time ago

and then lived and worked in France and Switzerland before going to Italy for seven years as a

teacher of English.

My Italian wife and I then came back to the UK with our little daughter (now long-

since grown up) where I ran a big English language school for many years. We now live in a sleepy

little village in Devonshire. I’ve been writing almost all my life but it was only nine years ago that I

finally managed to find a publisher who liked my work enough to offer me my first contract.

The fact that I am now writing escapist romance is something I still find hard to explain. My early

books were thrillers and historical novels and I now also write cozy crime, but my first love is

romance. Maybe it’s because there are so many horrible things happening in the world today that I

feel I need to do my best to provide something to cheer my readers up. My books provide escapism

to some gorgeous locations, even if travel to them is currently difficult.
