This is the first book I have read by this author.
I was originally drawn to this book by its gorgeous cover and the fact that I am a mum of three who love books especially picture ones.
This book is such a charming book for baby, children and adults alike. Amazon has placed the reading age from 3 years to 5 years old but I am 36 years old and I have 5 year old twin boys and a 10 year old son and we all loved reading/listening to Ellie-May and her toy dragon Ben and looking at the beautiful and colourful photos. My children loved looking and naming all the different items in the background. The story was made extra fun with all the rhyming words and my children loved guessing what word came next and laughing at some of the silly suggestions we came up with. One of the things I love about rhyming stories is that it helps children when it comes to rhyming words and with their English in general. This book makes a fantastic bed time story and the fact that we can see that Ellie-May is getting weepy and upset because she is tired helps show the children what happens when they get too tired and that is why sleep is so important. Ben the toy dragon is absolutely adorable and we all loved seeing all the pictures of him!! We also had lots of fun naming all the different things that the children could see in the photos and naming all the colours. It is a fantastic book and I would say it is suitable for any child from new-born up. This book is lovely and short and can be a quick read or be made into a fun long read whichever the reader wishes. It would be a great book for children to be read to by their teachers in school. I am looking forward to reading more books by Genna to my children and hope that she is busy writing and illustrating the next one already!
My partner also read this to the children but did unfortunately struggle with the font that is used especially when it is on the coloured backgrounds.

I enjoyed reading this book. My favourite character was Ben the toy dragon. I like the attention to details in the backgrounds. I really enjoyed reading it to my brothers who are 5 year old and loved showing them the pictures which they liked too.
Amazon rates this book suitable for children 3-5 years old. I would rate from baby to 8 years old.

I would recommend this book to the above as well as any book loving baby and child!

Author Bio –
Genna Rowbotham wrote her first children’s story in 2017, fitting it in around caring for her young
family, and is now an author of nine children’s books as well as a short story in a magazine.
Rowbotham has a passion to write stories that help entertain, educate and inspire young-ones as the
reader can escape the seriousness of life and enter a world of magic.
Her other interests include reading, writing, travelling, astrology, spending time with her family and
exploring the great outdoors.
She lives with her lively, imaginative family in Derbyshire in a house full of books, magazines as well
as colourful drawings and all sorts of artwork from her children (empty cereal boxes are often taken
from the recycle bin to reinvent something wonderful like a spy camera or telescope).
