Review for 'Dorothy Dustbucket: Our Funny Friendly Fairy' by Christina B Bianco.

Read and reviewed for Christina B Bianco, Delmo Publishing and ZooLoos Book Tours.

Publication date: 15th May 2023.

This is the first book I have read by this author.

This book is such a charming, fun and funny book for baby, children and adults alike. Amazon has placed the reading age from 2 years to 6 years old but I am 36 years old and I have 5 year old twin boys and a 10 year old son and we all loved reading/listening to the story of Dorothy Dustbucket the funny friendly fairy and looking at the beautiful, fun and colourful photos. My children loved looking and naming all the different items in the background. The story was made extra fun with all the rhyming words and my children loved guessing what word came next and laughing at some of the silly suggestions we came up with. One of the things I love about rhyming stories is that it helps children when it comes to rhyming words and with their English in general. This book makes a fantastic bed time story and the fact that we can see how much easier (most of the time) having everything nice and clean and organised is will hopefully encourage children to keep the house clean and tidy as they can see the hug smiles on the parents faces at the end of the book!!! The only bad thing is that Dorothy Dustbucket doesn't exist in real life as I would absolutely love to have a cleaning fairy help me around the house even if it does take a bit longer to find some of the things and I get a few frights wondering what's going on, it would definitely be worth it!!!! We had lots of fun naming all the different things that the children could see in the photos and naming all the colours. It is a fantastic book and I would say it is suitable for any child from new-born up. This book is lovely and short and can be a quick read or be made into a fun long read whichever the reader wishes. The font is a nice style and size making it easy for adults and children to see and read too which is definitely a bonus as I have struggled with some fonts that authors have used in children's books in the past. It would be a great book for children to be read to by their teachers in school. I am looking forward to reading more books by Christina to my children and hope that she is busy writing and illustrating the next one already!

My 10 year old son Malaki had this to say about this book:

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a very fun story and made me laugh a few times. I want Dorothy to come and clean my rooms for me!! I like the attention to details in the backgrounds. I really enjoyed reading it to my brothers who are 5 year old and loved showing them the pictures which they liked too.

Amazon rates this book suitable for children 2-6 years old. I would rate from baby to 8 years old.

Congratulations Christina on a great book filled with fun and exciting adventures! Here is to your next success 🥂

Overall a lovely illustrated and fun rhyming children's book about the adventures that Dorothy Dust bucket gets up to.
