Book: Christmas in Paris

Publication Day: October 21st 2022

Description:

As the snow flutters down on the Eiffel Tower and fairy lights sparkle on the pavement cafés of Paris, meet the girl determined not to fall in love in the most romantic city in the world…

When Brooke arrives in Paris at Christmas, it feels like the perfect place to escape her heartbreak after being dumped by her long-term boyfriend. And while her head might be turned by the romance of couples strolling arm in arm along the riverbank, and the air scented with chocolat chaud, her heart remains firmly under lock and key – this trip is going to be about her.

But when a chance encounter leads Brooke to green-eyed Armand with his dark wavy hair and warm smile, she is annoyed to feel her heart skip a beat… And when he opens his heart to her in a candlelit restaurant and kisses her at the top of the Eiffel Tower, she throws caution to the wind. Armand isn’t her ex – and doesn’t she deserve a second chance at love?

But when Armand begins to blow hot and cold, she wonders if she has been taken for a fool. Why does he lie about where he has been? Who is the mysterious tall blonde French woman who always seems to be watching Brooke? And when Armand leaves Paris without warning as Christmas Eve approaches, will Brooke be able to find out what he is hiding? Brooke will need the courage to leave her own past behind if she is to find magic this Christmas…

A completely gorgeous romantic read that will warm you from head to toe and have you booking a trip to Paris! Fans of Sarah Morgan, Josie Silver and Carole Matthews will be swept away by Christmas in Paris.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Christmas In Paris' by Tilly Tennant.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Tilly Tennant, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 21st October 2022.

This is the fifth book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The Hotel At Honeymoon Station', 'The Cafe At Marigold Marina', 'A Home At Cornflower Cottage' and 'My Best Friend's Wedding' which I highly recommend.

I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that this book is 'A completely gorgeous romantic read that will warm you from head to toe and have you booking a trip to Paris! Fans of Sarah Morgan, Josie Silver and Carole Matthews will be swept away by Christmas in Paris.' I am a huge fan of Carole Matthews so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Tilly and if this is half as good as 'The Hotel At Honeymoon Station', 'The Cafe At Marigold Marina', 'My Best Friend's Wedding' and 'A Home At Cornflower Cottage' it is sure to be a page turning read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of 25 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, UK 🇬🇧 and Paris, France 🇫🇷. The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture.

This book is written in third person perspective with the main protagonist being Brooke. The benefits of third person perspective are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.

Congratulations Tilly on yet another gorgeous read!!!

This book is very well written with vivid descriptions that helps the reader see and feel the Parisian sights. The cover, title and synopsis suit the storyline perfectly.

This book is a very easy and smooth read. It is a slow burner rather than some of Tilly's faster paced books but I still enjoyed this cute festive story. Once I picked it up I just could not put it down so clear your schedules before starting!! I absolutely loved visiting Paris with Brooke, visiting the markets, seeing the sites and so so much more!! I became completely lost in the stalls discovering all the Beautiful handmade and handcrafted items for sale and I love that Tilly focuses on these types of stalls. I genuinely felt like I had jumped into the pages of this stunning book and went on a stunning holiday myself. I was absolutely devastated when I came to the end and had to unpack my suitcase. It wasn't just Paris though but Paris at Christmas. This book will definitely start getting you ready to get the Christmas tree out and humming Christmas Carols!! This book is filled with love, loss, friendships, festivities, magical sparkles and everything you could hope for in a festive romance. It is just beautifully written and Tilly captures the festive sparkle perfectly!!

This would make an absolutely gorgeous movie that I would love to see made!!! This book is a sweet rom com which will have you feeling warm and fuzzy inside at times and yet screaming and shouting at certain people at other times. The atmosphere was gorgeous and I loved the setting. It made this book a perfect read anywhere and anytime from on the beach in the middle of the day or curled up in fire in the middle of the night.

The characters were are well defined, strong and realistic. I became completely invested in not only Brooke and Felicity too. I love reading books with strong female protagonists especially ones with beautiful friendships included. I loved Felicity straight away and found her to be a fantastic friend to Brooke. I enjoyed "watching" them both checking out and discovering the Parisian men in the stunning city. I was intrigued to see what Manon and Armand were up to and watching it all unfold before my eyes. To find out the answer you'll just have to pick up a copy of this beauty yourself. Love them or hate them each character played their role in this storyline absolutely perfectly.

Well done Tilly on another great book!!! Here's to your next success 🥂!!!

Overall a gorgeous festive romance that will sweep you off your feet and take you on a gorgeous break away while getting you in the mood for Christmas.

Genres covered in this novel include Romantic Comedy, Romance Novel, Women's Fiction, Contemporary Romance, Comedy, Women's Humorous Fiction, Romantic Comedy and Women's Contemporary Fiction amongst others.

Author Bio:

Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of her own. She wrote a novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and hasn't stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance fiction editor and part-time lecturer.

Hopelessly Devoted to Holden Finn was her debut novel; published in 2014 it was an Amazon bestseller in both the UK and Australia. In 2016 she signed to the hugely successful Bookouture and is currently working on her fifteenth Tilly Tennant novel. Christmas bestseller A Very Vintage Christmas has just been made into a movie for Lifetime Channel.
