This is the second book I have read by this author. It is also the fourth book in Nicola's 'Ferry Lane Market' series but can be read as a standalone. I have also read 'The Corner Shop In Cockleberry Bay' which is the first book in the 'Cockleberry Bay' series and I would highly recommend that stunning book too!!
This novel consists of a prologue, 41 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short to short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
What an absolutely beautiful, heart warming, stunning must read!!! Absolutely love, love, loved it!!! This book has fantastic descriptions that set you straight in the scenes. The cover, title and synopsis suit the storyline perfectly.
The storyline itself was absolutely unputdownable so make sure you clear your schedules before starting to read it!!
If you are looking for an absolutely addictive read then this is the book for you!! Nicola's evocative writing skills sucks the reader deep into the pages bringing the absolutely beautiful Ferry Lane Market to life along with all the amazing characters. While reading this book you will be swept away and left feeling the fresh air, hearing the waves crashing and laughing away!!! It will also get you in the festive spirit and turn any frown upside down!!! It is a stunning and hilarious escapism read and it genuinely felt like I was dropped into the middle of this beautiful village that I absolutely loved exploring. I was absolutely devastated when I came to the end and had to pack my mental suitcase to return to rainy Wales. I cannot wait to delve into the first book in this series which is called 'Welcome To Ferry Lane Market' and meeting all the characters from the start!!! It is ram packed with emotions from tears of sadness to tears of happiness, anger, betrayal, gossip, friendship, love, festivities, community, new beginnings and everything you could ask for in a beautiful page turner!!! This book is an absolutely stunning read that is perfect to lift your spirits!! I felt like I was next to each of the characters throughout!!
Although this is the fourth book in the series I had absolutely no problems reading it without the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.
The characters were all an eclectic mix and each one of them were realistic and strong. I was completely in them all and I already miss them even though I have just closed the pages. I loved meeting Sabrina who was a likeable and strong character and my heart went out to her several times. An absolutely amazing gang of characters who will stay with me for a long time and I really hope I get to meet again soon. I devoured this book in a few hours as it is one of those that I just could not put down. there were so many times that I told myself that I would just finish the one chapter and then go back to it but that chapter ended in a way that I could not put it down and then the next one did and then the next and so on until I came to very last page. I would absolutely love to see this beauty turned into a movie and I will be at the front of the queue to go and see it!! Nicola's writing skills will absolutely absorb you into the book and no matter where you are in the world you will be sucked into Ferry Lane Market in the blink of an eye.
